Poor Diamond...
While we have been enjoying springtime weather, he had to go up to Canada on business. It was supposed to be a quick trip - leaving Denver Wednesday, home by Friday night. Key words: "Supposed to be"
I got a call yesterday afternoon telling me that his meeting had run late, and he missed his plane. The problem with a small Canadian town like Saskatoon is there aren't too many flights - especially to the States. Nevertheless, he had hoped to fly standby on an early flight this morning. A convention has made hotel rooms scarce, but he managed to find a motel (that smelled like to smoke) and crashed for the night.
I got a call at 9:00am. Despite waking up at 5:00am, he didn't get on the early flight. However he had every confidence that he would be able to catch the only other flight out - this afternoon.
An hour ago I got an automated phone call from the airline explaining that there was a problem with the afternoon flight, and please contact a representative to rebook the flight.
Meanwhile, Diamond has been stranded in an airport in the middle of nowhere, Canada. The weather is miserable: Currently
-7'F with a low of -27'F. He's Big Boy #1 basketball coach and already has missed team pictures as well as the game. He's not going to make BB2 game either.
I'm not even sure where Saskatoon is, and who knows when he will even make it home...

OK this is just horrible!!! Diamond is sure going to need a hug from you when he gets home!!!
Poor Dave! I hope he learned a lot from watching Tom Hanks in the "Terminal." He may have to learn to live at the airport.
In reply to "Fox's" comment:
Just watch out for the "cost of a kiss."
:P
Tyler: Since Cheryl had strep as well, you know that is SOOOO wasn't worth it!!!
(Don't tell Dave!)
Good Grief! Now, I know what I would do stranded at the airport (kick my feet up with a diet coke and read for several days) but seriously, poor guy! Hopefully this will be the last business trip for a little while? Sad he missed the pictures, I think that's the worst part!
Poor guy! Hopefully he isn't trying to drive home in the sub artic conditions...hopefully we will see him today!
That's so harsh!
I know how you feel. It does just suck!
...and he's not even in a big enough airport to do any serious souvineer shopping for you and the boys!
what a bummer! can he get a flight to another place in canada that's not having a convention and has more flights to the states? or at this point he might have been able to drive someplace else?
Makes me want to give jason a hug...i'm so happy he doesn't have to travel as much anymore!
Oh man, Tracey - you always want to give Jason a hug!
You know, some of us still think Dave is stuck in Canada. Will you update us already on his safe return?
