Two weeks ago Diamond called from work to say that his job might be sending him to Panama City, Panama for a week, and did I want to come along. "Uh, YEAH!!!"
So I spent the next several hours browsing pictures like this:
Two days later I found out that Diamond did not get the gig. But at this point, I had a major itch to get out to town.
We decided to surprise the boys by taking them to Colorado Springs for a quick overnight. We were at the hotel before they figured out our plans.
The hotel had an indoor/outdoor pool that the boys LOVED:
The next day we toured the Olympic Training Center:
*Notice that the Caboose is not too thrilled with "Silver". He was much happier standing on "Gold." Below the boys are on a bobsled from SLC Olympics
And stopped at the Garden of the Gods:
It was nice to get out of town. No computer, no phone, no laundry. However, I have to admit that I am still itching. Maybe I just need something more like this:

Colorado Springs.... PANAMA.... Colorado Springs.... PANAMA.... yea...go with Colorado Springs... they could make the pictures there just as glamours as Panama if you went to the right web sites! HA! Glad you were able to get away, anyway.
I will go to Panama with you ANY day!!!!!
Brandon and I loved a jaunt we took to CS one time to the Brodmoore for an Anniversary!!!!!
Looks like you had a good time. Maybe Panama is your next trip!
Panama would have been nice but Colorado Springs looked pretty fun too. Any trip to me would be awesome!!
Can you blame him for not being happy with the silver?
Not even kidding, I was going to say the EXACT thing Lorie did. No wonder we get along so well!!
what a fun weekend getaway....even though we're a landlocked state there's a lot to do here!
Okay, so I'd almost feel dishonest if I didn't tell you how easy it was to make those things. So as a true friend, I'm revealing it all...
The flowers are made with cookie cutters. That easy. Stick them on top of a bamboo skewer. YOu will be amazed at how fast you can make them. Also, for the oranges and watermellon (softer fruit) I just stuck a tiny piece of orange peel behind the flower so the soft fruit didn't slide down the skewer.
Okay, now for the baby shower gifts. The taggie: it's like sewing a pillow case, except you fold little strips of ribbon and pin it to the seam before sewing. Then just sew a small stitch around the perimiter after it's turned right side out.
And, for the biggest secret. The onesie. There's a product out there called "heat and bond". They sell it at walmart. Iron your fabric to it. Cut out the shape you want. Then, just like a sticker, peel off the backing, and slap it where you want it. Iron over it. It will NEVER peel off. It won't even fray. It is literally a patch/applique. I sewed a little zigzag around the edges, but that's totally not necessary.
Okay, so you, you've got "Green" blood, so you were born creative. I know the wonders of your mother. So don't tell me about sharing talent, missy.
Oh, and you can google no sew tutu, and they will teach you for free how to make that tutu. Seriously, it's just tying knots around a strip of elastic. You can then wrap ribbon around that elastic for a fancy waistband.
So I think you should do one of those. You'd blow me out of the water. Not even gonna lie about that one. I know the skills of your sister.
